The house, the stories, the people and the atmosphere made a strong impression.
The story goes, that the people at Røst have always been especially hospitable. Diaries written by Pietro Querini in 1432 describes this. (You should reads his story-Google it! -and explore how he ended up on Røst)
Coming to Grandma’s was a wonderful experience.
The creative and welcoming atmosphere was present
She was a cut fish businesswoman with a large network of contacts,
at home and abroad.
Her house was open to everyone. She housed everything from politicians, artists to traders and fishermen.
Good food and drinks, were served at wonderful parties.
She was popularly called the «Queen of RØST and Stoccafisso».
The question: – «how should we dress» often came up.
The most important thing for Ingeborg was to be present,
-not how you dressed.
COME AS YOU ARE- was her phrase.
In the spirit of Grandma Ingeborg, we use this phrase
as the name for our collection – C.A.Y.A (Come as you are).
For us, the most important thing is that you are here.
YOU with the individualistic brain, who dares to be yourself.
When you dress up like this, you will not be anonymous.
You will be seen in the crowd.
